How Can My Child Prepare for the FCAT 6th Grade Math Test?
The FCAT (Florida Comprehensive Test) is administered to students to Florida students in 3rd-11th grades. Sixth graders are tested in reading, writing, science and math. If your 6th grader needs extra FCAT math practice, you can find many resource materials on the Internet.
Soft Schools has a selection of free, online math quizzes aligned with the 6th grade FCAT. Quiz topics include patterns, operations and measurement.
The Florida Department of Education has released old FCAT tests, which you can download for additional math practice. Practicing off of old tests is a great way to prepare because your child will become accustomed to the question style.
The Florida Department of Education offers Math Explorer, a series of math games designed for FCAT practice. Students can only play Math Explorer if their school is signed up for the program. If you would like your child to play Math Explorer, ask his or her teacher if your school is participating. If your school is signed up, your child will receive a login and password.
