Algebra for 7th Graders
What Schools Teach Algebra For 7th Graders?
Most kids take algebra in 8th or 9th grade but some schools offer algebra for 7th graders. You can find out if your child's school offers algebra for 7th graders by talking to one of the math teachers about the math sequence.
If the school offers algebra and you feel as if your child is ready for it in 7th grade, you may be able to get him or her in an advanced class. He or she could take algebra with the 8th graders or even go to the high school for a period each day. Remember, if your child takes algebra in 7th grade he or she will take calculus in junior year and may run out of math classes by senior year because many high schools don't offer math beyond calculus. The 7th grade math teacher can help you plan your child's math progression.
