Problem Child
If your child is having a problem in school, you can always schedule a meeting with your child's teacher. It might be helpful to establish some type of communication between you and your child's teacher since he or she guides your child through the curriculum. Hopefully by establishing a connection with the teacher, you two are able to develop a plan for your struggling student and a support system. During one of the meetings, you may want to ask your child's teacher about his or her impressions of your child. You should tell him or her to be as honest as possible with you because you may need to know the truth in order to help your child. If you don't agree with the teacher's opinions, you can ask someone else or have your child take an assessment test. For advice on how best to approach your child's teacher, you can go to www.educatorsforparents.com.
