Math 4 Grade
What Topics Will My Child Learn In Math In 4th Grade?
In most math classes in 4th grade, kids learn similar topics. The math curriculum may not be exactly the same from school to school, though, so you may want to check with your child's teacher for exact information about the 4th grade math curriculum. Your child will probably learn the following topics.
- He or she will review math facts. Children will use math facts during many 4th grade math units and should be able to recall them quickly.
- He or she will learn fractions with common and uncommon denominators and will have to model, add and compare them.
- He or she will learn how to complete arithmetic operations with decimals. He or she will also learn the names for decimal place values.
- He or she will learn long multiplication and division. Long division problems may have remainders.
- He or she will learn basic geometry, including how to identify different types of angles and polygons.
