5th Grade Lesson Plan
What's A Fun 5th Grade Lesson Plan For Reading?
By 5th grade, most students are experts in the types of reading activities they've completed year after year. They know how to answer comprehension questions and discuss a text and may be getting bored with traditional reading instruction. Consider incorporating the following fun 5th grade lesson plan for reading into your classroom. This plan will let you assess your students' comprehension, integrate writing into reading lessons and engage your students in a new way.
After your class finishes reading a novel or a set of short stories, divide students into groups of three to five. Assign each group a different chapter or story and ask them to write a skit showing what happened. They need to work together while writing the script and rehearsing the skit. This lesson plan will probably take several days, but will be a great way to end a reading unit and integrate multiple content areas across the curriculum.
