3rd Grade Long Division Sample
How Can I Make A 3rd Grade Long Division Sample Problem?
In 3rd grade, students are introduced to long division and generally complete very simple problems with one-digit divisors, two-digit dividends and no remainder. If you want to show your students sample problems, you may want to make a poster showing each step. Make the poster large enough that kids can refer to it from their desks while doing problems and make sure you write an explanation of each step next to the numbers. You can model your sample problem on the sample problem from Math Is Fun, but you may want to choose a simpler problem for your 3rd grades.
Students will learn the steps of long division if they make their own sample problems. You can guide them through the process of writing out explanations for each step. They can keep the sample problem in their math folder and refer to it whenever they're confused with long division.
